Blotter: Mountain Dew and Cognac Don't Mix; Sleeping it Off on a Bench is a No-No

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Drinking in public

Debinique Jarra Oregon, 25, of 2038 Lilac Ln. No G3 in Aurora and Brynn E. Buckley, 26, of 1855 Faxon Dr. in Montgomery, were issued citations for public drunkenness on July 16, according to the report. Police had dispersed a group of 15-20 people involved in a disturbance except for the two women who continued to yell at the group. The two women allegedly told an officer they had been drinking at downtown bar and were issued the citations. 

Sleeping it off

Sean Paul Thompson, 42, who is homeless, was issued a citation on July 16 for public drunkenness, according to the police report. An officer reportedly found Thompson sleeping on a downtown bench. The officer allegedly could smell a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. A cab was called for Thompson and he was then issued the citation.

Because cognac and Mountain Dew mix so well

Mitchell Reese Jenkins, 20, of 5621 Court Marie, in Hanover Park, charged with retail theft on July 16, according to a police report. Jenkins is accused of taking 11 bottles of Hennessy cognac and one bottle of Mountain Dew from Meijer, 855 S. Randall Rd. Officers reportedly chased Jenkins through the store’s parking lot before making the arrest.
