Blotter: Police Find Heroin During Traffic Stop

A 19-year-old Geneva man faces drug-related charges after police allegedly found hypodermic needles in his glove compartment during a traffic stop.

Zachery Edward Krugler of 626 Anderson Blvd. was arrested on May 27, according to the police report. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, underage drinking, illegally carrying alcohol and also was given a traffic citation.

According to the report, police saw a car drive through a controlled intersection on West Main Street on May 27. After police stopped Krugler's vehicle, they reportedly noticed a bottle partially hidden in the back seat of the car.

Krugler was arrested and tested to see if he had been drinking. During a search of a car, police allegedly found two silver spoons, two hypodermic needles and a small zip-close bag containing a white powder. According to the report, the powder later tested positive as heroin.
