Blotter: St. Charles Police Net Several DUI Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

"Overwhelmed" and arrested

Ambrocio Gomez-Carrera, 37, of 185 Michael Lane No. B. in Addison, was arrested for drunken driving on Feb. 5, according to a report. An officer allegedly saw a white SUV, later determined to be driven by Gomez-Carrera, speeding on West Main Street. After the SUV was stopped, the officer reportedly was “overwhelmed” by the smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver submitted to field sobriety tests and a portable breath test for blood-alcohol level. He was then arrested and taken to the police department for booking. There, Gomez-Carrera was cited for speeding, driving without a valid license, illegal transportation of alcohol (an open half-full beer can was found in the SUV) and driving under the influence of alcohol. After submitting to a second breath test, he was charged with DUI with a BAL greater than 0.08.

Didn't come to a complete stop

Daniel Edward Perkis, 23, of 221 Jewel Ave., St. Charles, was cited for drunken driving on Feb. 4, according to a police report. An officer allegedly saw the driver of a red Acura, determined to be driven by Perkis, roll through a stop sign on on Cedar Street near North Third Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop, during which a smell odor of alcohol was coming from the driver. Perkis submitted to field sobriety tests, after first he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. During booking, Perkis refused to take a test for his blood-alcohol level. He was issued citations for disobeying a stop sign and DUI.

Swerving and driving don't mix

Parsons was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a BAL greater than 0.08, improper lane use and operating an uninsured vehicle.
