Blotter: Police Pinch Pumpkin Pitcher; Drug Arrest for East Student

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police pinch pumpkin pitcher

Jeffrey J. Denning, 27, 2243 Fox Fire Ct., Geneva, was cited for disorderly conduct on Oct. 15 after two employees of a downtown bar told police he had throw a pumpkin from a second-floor patio into a nearby businesses window, according to police. The doormen told police they saw Denning toss the pumpkin across a plaza and into a window at Neo Pizza. However, it did not break the window. The doorman threw Denning out, who then tried to get back into the bar and had to be restrained. He reportedly told police that he made a bad decision.

Student faces drug arrest

Tanya Lynn Patz, 18, of 418 Jackson Ave., St. Charles, was arrested on Oct. 12 for alleging having marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her purse when she returned to school, according to a report. Patz reportedly left the East High School campus with two other students without permission. School policy requires students who leave without permission to be searched. Police allegedly found a small amount of what tested to be marijuana and a small glass pipe in a small zippered pocket inside the purse. She was cited for possession of paraphernalia and less than 30 grams of marijuana.

Kick a tree, punch a man

Steven Dale Reed, 36, of 1251 Student Ave., Springfield, OH, was cited for battery on Oct. 16 after an altercation with some men who reportedly made comments about him after he had just kicked a tree.

DUI arrest for St. Charles man

Benjamin R. Fowler, 21, of 38W681 W. Mary Ln., St. Charles, was charged with two counts of drunken driving and cited for failing to give information on Oct. 16 after allegedly fleeing the scene of a car crash.

Coach purse filched

A $400 Coach purse was stolen from a 2005 Honda van parked in the 1200 block of North Second Street on Oct. 10, according to a St. Charles police report. Someone had smashed a window of the van and grabbed the purse. However, several cell phones and iPods on the front and rear consoles were not taken.
