Deadly 2012 Campton Hills Crash Sparks Chase Lawsuit
Maple Park man's family blames his death on a Kane County sheriff's deputy for failing to end the chase of the woman who caused the crash.
The family of a Maple Park man is suing the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and a deputy they believe should have called off a car chase that ended when the Wisconsin woman crashed a stolen car into his vehicle, the Daily Herald reports.
The Dec. 1, 2012 crash on Route 38 in Campton Hills killed Zachary Bingham, 18, and his dog, injured his girlfriend who was riding with him, and hurt a Sugar Grove woman in another car. St. Charles Patch and Wheaton Patch reported details of the accident as they unfolded in the days afterward in 2012.
Jennifer Liston, the Madison, Wis., woman who stole the car in Wheaton earlier on the day of the crash, also died in the wreck.

According to the Daily Herald, the wrongful death lawsuit states that Deputy Nicholas Wolf knew or should have known the pursuit endangered others and should have ended the chase.
