Drug Arrest for St. Charles Man Stopped for Seat Belt Violation

Here is an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

A St. Charles man faces drug-related charges after police had observed both he and the man he was driving with were seen by police not wearing seat belts.

Jonathon Isiaha Hopkins, 20, of 312 Beatrice Ave., was arrested on May 2 for unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the police report, an officer saw the pair allegedly not wearing seat belts in a car traveling in the 400 block of East Main Street on May 2. After conducting a traffic stop, a check of the Hopkins indicated that he was wanted on a Kane County warrant and was arrested.
