Fire Officials Report Second Sunday Fire; Cause of Evening Fire Remains Under Investigation

Each fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage, according to officials.

No one was injured in a Sunday evening house fire in St. Charles—the second reported in the city by fire officials that day.

Emergency personnel responded to the evening fire at about 5:30 p.m. at a home on Arbor Creek Road. Responding firefighters reported smoke and visible fire coming from the roof of the two-story building.

According to a release from the St. Charles Fire Department, the fire started in a second-floor bathroom and spread to the attic. The blaze was extinguished within 20 minutes.

People were in the home at the time but were able to leave without injury. The cause remains under investigation.

The fire is estimated to have caused $20,000 in damage to the home and an additional $5,000 to contents.
