Here is her identity and how the crash happened.

Police Tuesday afternoon identified the driver who died at the scene of a car vs. truck crash west of Elburn.

The driver is 78-year-old Lorella Huff, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Huff was driving a 1995 Toyota Camry north on Francis Road. For reasons unknown, she did not stop at the stop sign for Route 38, the Sheriff's Office said. Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash at about 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Huff's car entered the intersection and struck a 2012 Hino box truck heading west on Route 38. Traffic on Route 38 does not have a stop sign.

The driver of the truck, a 36-year-old man from Roselle, was uninjured. Huff was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

"No tickets have been issued in relation to this crash," a Sheriff's Office statement said.

Route 38 was closed for about 3.5 hours between Meredith Road and Route 47 while the crash was investigated.

Kane County sheriff’s deputies and members of the County Crash Reconstruction Team continue to investigate the crash.
