Man Driving Drunk Friend Home Is Arrested for DUI

Here is an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

A St. Charles man who told police he was driving his intoxicated friend home is charged with aggravated drunken driving.

Andrew David Cabin, 37, of 1320 Covington Ct., was arrested on March 13 for aggravated DUI due to an allegedly invalid driver's license.

According to the report, St. Charles police saw a vehicle, later determined to be driven by Cabin, swerve suddenly from the road in the 400 block of South 14th Street and go completely into the lawn of a residence, just missing a tree.

During the traffic stop, Cabin reportedly told police he had been drinking, but not as much as his passenger, before police conducted field sobriety tests on him.

Police also issued Cabin two traffic violations, including for having a suspended license.
