More Graffiti Found Near Dean

Here's an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

An unknown person painted graffiti sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning on the retention wall around a pond located near the intersection of North 17th and Dean streets. The vandalism was reported to St. Charles police on Sunday.

According to reports, police photographed the graffiti and found other instances painted on 720 N. 17th St., the railroad junction building at the 17th and Dean streets intersection, the sidewalls of the railroad underpass on North 12th Street and concrete traffic barriers in the 1700 block of Dean Street.

In a separate report, graffiti that read "RED 7" was reported on Sunday painted on a garage in the 1100 block of Dean Street. Other unreadable red spray painted graffiti also was found. According to reports, this was the same graffiti found in the last week of August but had gone unreported to police.
