Here's a round-up of recent, bizarre police report items from the area.

Singled Out At The Drinking Party

Adam Rosinski, 20, of the 7700 block of Fox Street, Woodridge, was charged with a local underage drinking ordinance after police stumbled upon an underage drinking party.

An officer on patrol in his car saw a male lurking around some parked vehicles at 4:25 a.m. June 3 near the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue, according to a report. The male took off running when the officer stopped.

The officer stepped out to investigate, noticed several empty beer cans lying on the ground and discovered an underage drinking party on the block.

As the officer and assisting officers tried to make contact with the other teens at the party, they ran inside the house. But the owner of the home gave police access to the house, the report said.

BURR RIDGE

Guest Grumpy Over Bill

A male guest was causing a disturbance at 7:33 a.m. May 25 over his bill on the 1200 block of Burr Ridge Parkway. He eventually settled down and agreed not to cause any more problems, police said.

ST. CHARLES

1 Accident, 10 Injuries

A 69-year-old St. Charles man accidentally fired off a shotgun in an Elburn sportsmen’s club, injuring at least 10 people at about 10 p.m.  June 4, police said

The incident occurred at the St. Charles Sportsmen’s Club, 44W471 Keslinger Road, Elburn. The man was preparing to put his 12-gauge shotgun away inside the club when he accidentally put a live shotgun round into the gun instead of a snap cap, which is a device used to protect the gun’s firing pin during storage, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office said.

DOWNERS GROVE

Pervert Policed

A 43-year-old Addison man is headed to court after Downers Grove residents saw him masturbating in his car, police said.


Elias Robles, of the 300 block of West Winthrop Avenue, was charged with public indecency. The incident occurred at about 7 a.m. May 31 on the 5300 block of Benton Avenue.


The arrest comes after two other reported incidents in May of a man masturbating in his car. The sightings all occurred in the same area of the village east of downtown.   

GLEN ELLYN

Nothing Sacred for the Crook

A Samsung cell phone was stolen from the men’s bathroom at the First Congregational Church, police reported. The theft was reported at 6:30 a.m. May 27. The phone was valued at less than $500.

HINSDALE

Even the Flowers Aren’t Safe

Someone took about 70 potted annuals that were planted in flower beds by the Village of Hinsdale Public Works Department. The incident occurred sometime between 3 p.m. May 22 and 1:30 p.m. May 30 at First and Washington streets, according to police. The flowers were valued at $150.
