Police Arrest St. Charles Man for Obstructing an Officer

Here is an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

A St. Charles man was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing a police officer on May 1.

Juan Carlos Chagoya-Montanez, 28, of 1312 W. Main St., was arrested after a bartender alleged that he had backed her in a corner and swore at her inside Ray’s Evergreen Tavern.

According to the police report, the officer had seen a man matching Chagoya-Montanez’s description walking away from the bar when he arrived. The same officer then observed the same man at a residence on West Main Street.

When questioned, Chagoya-Montanez allegedly refused to provide identification and resisted arrest.
