Police Arrest St. Charles Man for Public Intoxication and Battery

A St. Charles man is charged with battery and public intoxication following an incident at a downtown bar.

Grant Joseph Winger, 29, of 35W239 Route 64 was arrested on March 25 after a bouncer from Chord on Blues on Riverside Avenue had requested help from a nearby officer, according to the report. Winger reportedly refused to leave the area when ordered by the officer.

He also reportedly made an obscene gesture at the officer, at which time the officer arrested him for public intoxication. The report notes that Winger allegedly was intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol.
