Police Blotter: Homeless Man Ignores Trespassing Notice, Heroin Overdose and Walmart Altercation

MONDAY, JULY 2

Criminal Trespass

A homeless man, identified as Justin H. Fanslau, was arrested for criminal trespassing after violating a trespass notice earlier in June at the Main Street Goodwill, according to a police report. According to the report the earlier trespassing notice was filed after a shopping cart was taken from the store.

When police arrived at the store they found Fanslau sorting through music CDs. He told officers he was shopping for music and a backpack however, according to the report, he had no money.

Fanslau told police he knew about the trespass notice, but never signed it so he thought he could legally return to the store. He has yet to return the shopping cart, police said.

Fanslau was taken into custody and because he could not post the required bond, was transported to Kane County Jail to await a bond hearing.

SUNDAY, JULY 1

Disorderly Conduct

Police cited Grizcelda Lobez, 175 Washington St. 2R, for disorderly conduct-fighting in connection with a fight involving her sister's former boyfriend at Walmart in St. Charles.

According to the police report Lopez, 18, admitted to punching the man in the face and said she had wanted to punch him for several years.  She told police she hated the man and saw the opportunity to attack him and took it.

Although the man who was attacked initially wanted her arrested for battery, he changed his mind when the police requested a written statement, according to the report. He agreed a ticket for fighting would be appropriate.

Harassment by Telephone

A Walnut Drive resident reported she received several harassing text messages from an ex-boyfriend on July 1. According to the report the woman who received the messages said her former boyfriend is not handling a recent break up well.

SATURDAY, JUNE 30

Possession of Controlled Substance

St. Charles police responded to a report of an unresponsive female on 19th Street.

Officers discovered Carrie A. Nussie, 407 S. 19th St. B, on her bathroom floor. A syringe and several tin-foil packets were located near her. According to the report officers suspected the packets to contain heroin.

Nussie, 50, was taken to Delnor Hospital. After receiving treatment, police said she told them she was a heroin addict who relapsed. She identified the packets as containing heroin.

After her medical treatment was completed, she was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
