Police Blotter: Officers Respond to Public Intoxication Reports

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Public Intoxication

St. Charles officers arrested an Aurora man for public intoxication after he became belligerent, according to police reports.
Officers noticed an apparently intoxicated Edward Valadez walking down Main Street and heading to the Geneva Motel. According to the report officers saw Valadez sit down on the curb outside the motel and assumed he was fine. The officers went into the motel to check on another guest.

When the officers left the building and made their way back to their vehicle Valadez, according to the report, approached the officers and told them if they wanted to know about him they could ask him directly. He then became belligerent and swore at the officers saying he was doing nothing wrong.

The report says the officers advised Valadez to go to his motel room, but he refused and continued to swear at the officers and act in a belligerent manner.

Valadez was arrested for public intoxication.

Public Urination

St. Charles officers arrested John Collin Reedy of Geneva, 23, for public urination.

An intoxicated Reedy was on Main Street and, according to the police report, observed by St. Charles officers urinating on the side of a building.

When officers approached Reedy, he attempted to evade police by running into Magoo’s Tavern, but was stopped by the doorman. When the officers caught up with Reedy he became belligerent, according to the police report. He was cited for public urination and resisting arrest.
