Police Blotter: St. Charles Police Respond to Reports of Theft
The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Retail Theft
St. Charles officers arrested a woman for shoplifting panties and a bra from Kohl’s Department Store.
Officers arrested Miranda Ahsley Lozada, 214 Walnut St., for retail theft after a Kohl’s loss prevention officer detained her after leaving the department store with the undergarments. The four pairs of panties and bra were valued at $40.36, according to the police report.

Lozada, 20, told officers she had never shoplifted before and the experience of being arrested “taught her a lesson.”

Retail Theft
Officers arrested an Elburn man for shoplifting 24 items from Meijer on Randall Road.
According to St. Charles police reports William J. Hoff, 27, allegedly entered the store carrying reusable shopping bags. He began to fill them with various items, including clothes, compact discs and groceries. As he attempted to leave the store he was stopped by loss prevention employees.
The items Hof was carrying were valued at $171.27, according to the police report.
Police were summoned and Hof was arrested. He has a court date set for June 7.
Theft
The manager of Fox Run Apartments, 145 Walnut Drive, reported a loss of more than $600 from a cash box kept in the office. According to police reports the complex manager told police the box and its contents were not a secret from either her employees or apartment residents. The complex does not accept cash for rent, but the manager told officers the box held $614.
Police were not able to recover fingerprints off the box due to the texture on the lid.
Police are investigating.
