Police Blotter: St. Charles Police Respond to Retail Theft Reports

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Aimee Rae Stewart

Officers arrested Aimee Rae Stewart, 1909 Oak St., for retail theft after Von Maur loss prevention associates stopped her for shop lifting.

According to a St. Charles Police Department report, Stewart, 24, was under surveillance from loss prevention officers due to belief she had stolen from the store before. While shopping on May 1 Von Maur employees observed Stewart enter a changing room with 22 items. When she left the changing room she only returned 10 items to the shelves. She was detained by loss prevention associates until police arrived. According to the report Stewart allegedly stole a purse, wallet, rings, earrings, bracelet and assorted clothing stolen from Von Maur on May 1. The value of the items was approximately $500

Stewart was arrested for theft and taken to Kane County jail.

Christina Marie Roberts

On May 4 Christina Marie Roberts, 2598 Barnhart St., was arrested for allegedly stealing a wallet valued at $68 from Von Maur. Roberts, 18, was also caught by loss prevention associates. She was arrested by St. Charles officers and charged with retail theft. Roberts has a court date of June 7.

 

Michael James Vonkaenel

Officers arrested Michael James Vonkaenel, 115 Walnut Drive, 211-D, after loss prevention associates at Meijer accused him of illegally loading money onto store gift cards. Vonkaenel, 27, was an employee at the Starbucks kiosk inside Meijer. According to the report he loaded $25 onto a gift card on two occasions. The gift cards could be used to purchase Meijer store products. Vonkaenel was charged with one count of retail theft.
