Police Find Woman Slumped in the Seat of Her Car, Arrest Her for DUI

Here's an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

A Streamwood woman was charged last week with driving under the influence after she told police she had taken three Zoloft pills.

Maria Makowska, 57, of 111 Innsbrook Dr., was charged for DUI of alcohol, DUI of combined influence was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and also a traffic violation.

A witness reportedly identified a car that hit another car at the intersection of Seventh and Indiana avenues before fleeing. According to the report, a car matching the description given and driven by Makowska, was found stopped in the middle of the road at Foxfield Drive and Foxfield Court. She was reportedly slumped to the side in the seat.
