Police Nab Two Teens for West Side Break-Ins

The burglaries happened on Oct. 17 and Oct. 4, according to police.

Two underage teenagers are charged with several felonies and misdemeanors stemming from multiple October break-ins.

Both boys, ages 13 and 14, face two count of felony residential burglary and four counts of felony burglary from motor vehicles. Police did not identify the teens by name and listed their addresses simply as the “west side of St. Charles.”

The pair was arrested on Oct. 17 after officers responded to the 3000 block of Deville Lane for a report of people searching unlocked cars parked on the street, according to . Police said several cars and two garages were burglarized.

One teenager was arrested after trying to run away, police said. Officers spotted the other teen coming out of his home. Property allegedly recovered from the two was linked to the burglaries.

Police also have tied the teenagers to several break-ins on Oct. 6, including a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Valley View Drive and a garage in the 200 block of Sunbury Drive.

Both teenagers were charged and taken to the Kane County Juvenile Detention Facility following their arrests.
