Police Recover Laptop Believed Stolen from St. Charles Family

Here's an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

West Chicago police have recovered computer equipment that might have been stolen from a St. Charles woman earlier this month.

According to reports, an officer from West Chicago contacted St. Charles police last week about the recovery of a laptop believed to be the same one reported stolen from a car in the driveway of a St. Charles home.

As originally reported to police, two cars were left open at around midnight on Aug. 20 in the driveway of a home in the 1500 block of Adams Avenue while the family packed for a vacation. Upon returning, the family noticed that the glove compartments had been opened and other items had been disturbed. The family was able to identify the computer and the case was turned over to investigators, according to reports.
