Smelly Purse Leads to Drug Arrest for Woman at St. Charles Store

Here is an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

A St. Charles woman was arrested for drug-related charges on April 23 after fellow employees noticed that her purse reportedly smelled of marijuana.

Leah Ellen Puzzo, 27, of 42W433 Red Bud Ct., was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. According to the police report, employees at Meijer noticed that a purse hanging in the service office had a strong smell of marijuana. The purse allegedly belonged to Puzzo, a store employee.

An employee was given permission by store management to search the purse, where he allegedly found marijuana. Store loss prevention officers detained Puzzo until St. Charles police arrived. A test of the substance conducted later was positive for marijuana.
