St. Charles Cops Campaign Charges 3 with DUI

Two-week enforcement effort led up to the Labor Day weekend.

St. Charles police made three drunken-driving arrests and one warrant arrest; and issued 28 citations for seat belts, six citations for uninsured motorists,  17 citations for speeding, and five citations for other violations during the two weeks leading up to Labor Day.


In addition to the state citations issued, officers also issued 28 warnings for various violations.


The arrests, citations and warnings were issued by the St. Charles Police Department during a two-week traffic safety campaign that ended Sept. 2, 2013. According to a release from the department, the safety campaign was done in cooperation with, and funded by, the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The initiative is part of a statewide program to reduce the number of traffic fatalities.
