St. Charles police reports on alcohol-related violations from Friday, Sept. 20, 2013 through Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 29, 2013


Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol


Corina Mendenhall, 38, of the 300 block of St. Charles Road, Elgin, was charged at 4:37 a.m. on the 800 block of West Main Street with driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated DUI-third offense, no insurance, aggravated DUI-no insurance, aggravated DUI-no driver’s license, illegal transportation of alcohol by the driver, and speeding, 51 in a 30 mph zone. She was transported to the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.

DUI


David Matthew Gurtler, 24, of the 41W900 block of Burlington Road, was charged at 2:06 a.m. on the 1300 block of South 12th Street with DUI, no insurance, and speeding-too fast for conditions. Police met Gurtler while responding to an accident report. Gurtler told police he ran off the roadway while avoiding another vehicle. Gurtler’s vehicle struck a parked vehicle before exiting the roadway and striking a fence at 1262 Fellows Street. Police said Gurtler and his passenger both declined medical treatment. He posted his driver’s license and $100 cash bond and was released pending an Oct. 17, 2013 court appearance.


Public Drunkenness


Michael K. Bertrand, 24, of the 100 block of Highgate Course, was cited at 12:30 a.m. at West Main and 3rd streets with disorderly conduct-public drunkenness after a report of a disturbance at The Filling Station, 300 W. Main St. According to police, officers found Bertrand being restrained by an employee at the establishment after he had been kicked out earlier in the evening but then returned and created a disturbance. Bertrand was cited and informed that he has been permanently banned from The Filling Station.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 27, 2013


DUI


Stephanie L. Brady, 27, of the 4N500 block of Hidden Oaks Road, was charged at 1:05 a.m. at South 19th and West Main streets with DUI. She was released on her own recognizance pending an Oct. 17, 2013 court appearance.


TUESDAY, SEPT. 24, 2013


Public Drunkenness


Janet A. Hocking, 54, of the 00-99 block of North 15th Street, was cited at 1:29 p.m. on the 100 block of North 15th Street with disorderly conduct-public drunkenness.


MONDAY, SEPT. 23, 2013


Public Drunkenness, Criminal Property Damage


Janet A. Hocking, 54, of the 00-99 block of North 15th Street, was charged at 9:35 p.m. on the same block as her home with criminal property damage, resisting a peace officer, and public drunkenness. Police were called to an address near Hocking’s home on a report of a woman knocking at the door and claiming to be afraid. Before officers arrived, they were informed the woman had now broken a window at the address. Police described her as extremely intoxicated and began struggling with an officer who tried to check her hands for injury from the broken window. She was released on her own recognizance pending an Oct. 17, 2013 court appearance.


FRIDAY, SEPT. 20, 2013


DUI


Mark A. Coleman, 18, of the 6900 block of West 91st Street, Bridgeview, was charged at 1:43 p.m. at the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Riverside Drive,

with DUI, no insurance, improper use of registration, unlawful use of an ID card, and speeding. He posted $300 cash bond and was released pending an Oct. 17, 2013 court appearance.
