Burglary victim finds $7,500 cash

A St. Charles man whose car was burglarized found a wad of money totaling $7,500 on his tennis court, according to police reports. The burglary reportedly happened sometime on the night of Aug. 3 or the morning of Aug. 4 in the 1300 block of Hampton Course Road. The owner, whose Cadillac was parked in his driveway, told police he found the contents of his car strewn about. The car keys and owner's manual were missing. The man also reportedly found the money near a post in the tennis court. He told police he thought, at first, that it was the missing manual. Police suspect that the money is connected to a Wayne car burglary where $10,000 cash was taken.
