St. Charles Man Charged in Incident at Delnor

The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

An unusual, early morning incident involving a slammed pamphlet holder in a hospital's front lobby resulted in disorderly conduct charges against a St. Charles man.

Geneva police arrested George Ghawi, 35, of St. Charles on a charge of disorderly conduct at around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in the 300 block of South Randall Road, Geneva police reports said.

According to the complaint in the 16th Judicial Circuit court, Ghawi “knowingly struck a plastic pamphlet holder on a counter top in the lobby of Delnor Hospital, causing the pamphlet holder to travel through the air and strike (the victim) in an unreasonable manner as to alarm (the victim) and provoke a breach of the peace.”
