St. Charles Motorcyclist Dies in Elgin Crash

The motorcycle and a passenger car collided at Randall Road and Highland Avenue.

Police in Elgin are investigating an accident at 7 a.m. Friday that left a 26-year-old St. Charles motorcyclist dead, the Kane County Chronicle reports.


The crash involved a Yamaha motorcycle, which was northbound on Randall Road, and a southbound passenger vehicle that was turning east onto Highland Avenue, according to Elgin police.


According to the Chronicle, witnesses told police the motorcycle had been riding along the shoulder immediately before the crash, and that the motorcyclist was not in a traffic lane when he entered the intersection.

Paramedics transported the the motorcyclist to a local hospital where he later was pronounced dead. Authorities are not releasing his identity pending the notification of his family.


The 44-year-old Woodstock man who was the car’s driver was not injured, police told the Chronicle.
