St. Charles Police Blotter: Alcohol Violations, Theft Reports

St. Charles police reports from Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, through Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.

SUNDAY, NOV. 11, 2012

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Ryan Douglas Piccolin, 35, of the 9N300 block of Percy Road, Maple Park, was charged at 6:50 p.m. on the 700 block of South 2nd Street with driving under the influence of alcohol, no driver’s license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident/driving too fast for conditions, and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police said his friends posted $300 cash bond and he was released pending a Dec. 26 court appearance.

Disorderly Conduct

Timothy S. Butorac, 34, of the 900 block of South 2nd Street, was cited at 9:23 p.m. with disorderly conduct after police responded to a noise complaint from a neighbor while he and his friends were watching the Bears game.

Disorderly Conduct, Fighting

Police responding to a 1:26 a.m. report of a fight at the Alibi, 12 N. 3rd St., arrested two St. Charles men. John D. Andreacchi, 25, of the 42W700 block of Bridle Court, and Timothy W. Kupp, 26, of the 42W500 block of Steeple Chase, were each cited with fighting.

Disorderly Conduct/Public Drunkenness

Guadalupe R. Leos, 24, of the 500 block of Bayfield Drive, DeKalb, was cited at 1:57 a.m. with disorderly conduct/public drunkenness.

Retail Theft

Juan J. Arreola, 21, of the 1200 block of Kinds Court, was charged at 11:14 a.m. at Walmart, 150 Smith Road, with retail theft. The police report states Arreola attempted to steal a radar detector valued at $100.

Theft of Less Than $300

Katherine E. Pietka, 21, of the 200 block of Walnut Drive, was charged at 5:27 p.m. at 12 N. 3rd St., with theft of two wallets from an employee area of the Alibi, 12 N. 3rd St. Both wallets were recovered but the cash inside one was not. One of the wallets, a Coach wallet was damaged. The value was reported at $148. She was released after posting a $50 booking fee and ordered to appear in Kane County Branch Court on Dec. 6.

Open Alcohol

Michael Pedersen, 35, of the 500 block of Springhill Circle, Naperville, was cited at 9:24 p.m. at the Alibi, 12 N. 3rd St., with open alcohol in a public place. Police also forwarded a report of the incident to the St. Charles Liquor Control Commission.

Disorderly Conduct/Public Drunkenness, Public Urination

David M. Gurtler, 23, of the 41W900 block of Burlington Road, was cited at 11:08 p.m. at 99 N. 3rd St. with disorderly conduct/public drunkenness, and with public urination. Police described him as “highly intoxicated.”

Violation of an Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device

Brett W. Weber, 43, of the 700 block of Indiana Avenue, was charged at 2:46 p.m. in the 99 block of South 13th Avenue with driving with a revoked license and violation of an alcohol ignition interlock device requirement for a restricted driving permit, a Class 4 felony. He was transported to the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.

FRIDAY, NOV. 9, 2012

Warrant Arrest

Robert E. Haythorne, 63, of the 1100 block of East State Street, Geneva, was arrested at 1:49 a.m. at 600 S. 1st St., Geneva, by Geneva police on a St. Charles warrant for failure to appear in court on a battery charge. Geneva police transferred custody of Haythorne to St. Charles police at 2:20 a.m. at 211 N. Riverside Ave. He was transported to the Kane County Jail pending an appearance in court.

Disorderly Conduct

Jacob A. Heller, 18, of the 200 block of Linn Court, was cited at 3:30 p.m. at 211 N. Riverside Ave., with disorderly conduct. Further details about the incident were not available.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Robert E. Haythorne, 63, of the 1100 block of East State Street, Geneva, was charged at 6:26 p.m. at 221 S. 2nd St., with driving under the influence of alcohol, and DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08. Police said his blood-alcohol content was .183. He was released on his own recognizance after posting his driver’s license and was ordered to appear in court Dec. 13.

Theft, Criminal Property Damage

A 42-year-old resident of the 1000 block of Dean Street reported at 10:40 a.m. that someone had siphoned half a tank of gasoline from his 1999 Chevrolet Malibu on Oct. 30-31. Several days later, he told police, he purchased a locking gas cap and installed it on his vehicle. The next morning, he found someone had broken the lock and siphoned more gas from the vehicle. He then told police he parked the vehicle in a more visible spot, but the next morning found someone had let the air out of his tires.

Warrant Arrest

Gina Amber Arness, 22, of the 100 block of North 15th St., was arrested at 1:01 p.m. in the parking lot of the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. 6th Ave., on an Aurora warrant for failure to appear in court on a driving while license suspended charge. She was transferred to the custody of Aurora police.
