St. Charles Police Blotter: Burglary, Property Damage, Fraud

St. Charles police reports from Saturday, April 13, 2013, through Monday, April 15, 2013.

MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2013

Residential Burglary

A resident of the 900 block of Millington Way reported at 6:20 a.m. that he found some shoes, a prescription bottle containing coins and two DVD players beneath a tree. He found the items when he went out to walk his dog. Police determined the items belonged to a neighbor whom they contacted, and he said he had awakened to find his inside garage door open and lights on in two rooms. Some of the items had been taken from inside the resident’s unlocked vehicle. Police also learned a second vehicle had been entered and items were removed from a purse. As police continued their investigation, they determined the burglar(s) had entered the home, as well, and removed a LCD television valued at $350, and a $400 Apple iPad.

Criminal Property Damage

A resident of the 1300 block of Fox Meadow Court reported at 7:04 a.m. that someone overnight had broken the front driver-side window of his Mercedes 380 SE.

Accident Citations

Guillermo Lara-Jiminez, 33, of the 1000 block of North Highland Avenue, Aurora, was cited with failure to reduce speed/driving too fast for conditions, no driver’s license and no insurance after an accident at 8:35 a.m. at 99 N. 5th Ave. He was released pending a May 16, 2013 court appearance.

Wire Fraud

A 23-year-old resident of the 2000 block of Wessel Court reported at 9:52 a.m. she is the victim of wire fraud after she applied for an advance-fee loan, then tried to cancel it and was denied a refund. She was instructed to pay the advance fee of $130 via a Green Dot MoneyPak pre-paid cash card. The victim later learned the fee had been collected but the loan funds never issued.

Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol

Sarah Roselynn SchwartzM 21, of the 100 block of Kyle Lane, Kirkland, was charged at 12:05 a.m. in the 800 block of West Main Street with driving under the influence of alcohol; DUI with a blood-alcohol concentration greater than .08; speeding, 47 in a 30 mph zone; and operating an uninsured vehicle. Police said her blood-alcohol concentration registered at .194. She posted her driver’s license and was released on her own recognizance pending a May 8, 2013 court appearance.

SUNDAY, APRIL 14, 2013

Property Damage

A resident of the 1100 block of Crabapple Lane reported at 5:28 p.m. damage to a mailbox. A plastic bottle containing an undetermined liquid had been found in the mailbox and had burst, damaging the mailbox. Police are investigating.

Retail Theft Update

Emma Urbina-Perez, 34, of the 800 block of Burr Oaks Drive, West Chicago, was charged at 3:34 p.m. at , with retail theft. According to police, she took $92.83 in household items, bathroom products, clothing items and some drink products.She posted $150 cash bond and and $50 booking fee and was released pending a May 16, 2013 DuPage County Court appearance.

Underage Alcohol Consumption/Possession

Wesley Lewis Nicolay, 18, of the 6N400 block of Tuscola Avenue, was cited at 12:44 a.m. in the 2000 block of West Main Street with underage consumption/possession of alcohol.
