Albert Shante Smith, 23, of the 5900 block of Normal, Chicago, was arrested at 1:29 a.m. at 1437 W. Main St. on a DeKalb County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of no driver’s license. He could not post bond and was transported to the Kane County Jail, where he was held for DeKalb County authorities.
Computer Stolen from Walmart
Walmart, 150 Smith Road, reported at 5:46 p.m. the theft of an Acer All-in-One Touch and Play computer valued at $325. According to the report, the theft occurred shortly after 9 a.m. A white male entered the store’s electronics department, where she put the computer box in a shopping cart before moving to another section of the store. He then removed the wired alarm sensor from the box. A clerk who found the sensor asked the man if he needed assistance, but the man bolted, pushing the shopping cart in front of him toward the front of the store and fled with the device into the parking lot, where he got into a car and drove off.

Retail Theft Arrest
Samphan Pakhotama, 32, of the 1400 block of Blackhawk Circle, South Elgin, was arrested at 2 p.m. at his home on a charge of retail theft. Further details were not immediately available. He was held in the Kane County Jail.
