Battery Victim Declines Police Aid

Police officers responding to a report of a fight at Pub 222, 22 W. Main St., at 11:41 p.m. found a 27-year-old resident of Cambridge Drive sitting outside the bar, bleeding from the face. But the victim, who police described as very uncooperative, told officers he did not want to press charges and wanted no police interference. Police also talked to several potential witnesses, but all said either refused to answer questions or else said they saw nothing. A bouncer, however, gave police a description of the man who fought with the victim, but officers could not find him during a search.

Police Blotter information is provided by the St. Charles Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions taken on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.
