St. Charles Police Blotter: DUIs, Public Drunkenness, Burglary

St. Charles police reports from Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, to Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012.

TUESDAY, DEC. 25, 2012

Driving Under the Influence

Gary Earl Bryan, 60, of the 1300 block of Arlington Court, Geneva, was charged at 5:42 p.m. at East Main Street and Kirk Road with driving under the influence of alcohol, and improper lane use. He was released after posting a $300 cash bond and his driver’s license pending a Feb. 7, 2013, court appearance.

DUI

Hugo Moran-Soto, 50, of Tampa, Fla., was charged at 10:39 p.m. at Voltaire Lane and Peck Road with DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane use. Police said his blood-alcohol level was .130. He was released after posting $300 cash bond pending a Jan. 16, 2013, court appearance.

SUNDAY, DEC. 23, 2012

Lost/Stolen Wallet

A 29-year-old Maryland woman reported at 1:07 a.m. to police that while she was at the , she either had lost her wallet or it had been stolen. The wallet contained $30 and four bank/credit cards, her Social Security card and several gift cards. The tavern was unable to find the wallet, nor was the police officer, who searched both inside and outside the pub.

Disorderly Conduct/Public Drunkenness,

Jacob D. Krzeczowski, 23, of the 1000 block of Prairie Street, and Tyler J. Hines, 23, of the 2300 block of Kidwell Drive, West Chicago, were charged at 1:14 a.m. at , with one count each of disorderly conduct/public drunkenness, and obstructing a peace officer. Each man posted bond and was released pending court appearances on Jan. 17, 2013.

DUI

Joshua M.E. Smith, 21, of the 1400 block of Blume Drive, Elgin, was charged at 2:06 a.m. at North 7th and Cedar avenues with DUI and speeding. He was released after posting $300 cash and his driver’s license, pending a Jan. 16 court appearance.

Retail Theft

Jaime Hernandez-Garcia, 45, of the 1200 block of Elizabeth Street, West Chicago, was charged at 5:16 p.m. at , with retail theft. According to police, Hernandez-Garcia took three CDs and a bottle of Advil with a combined value of $29.88. He was released on bond pending a Jan. 17, 2013, court appearance.

Home Burglary

A 35-year-old resident of a home in the 00-99 block of North 15th Street reported at 6:55 p.m. that someone had tried to break into his apartment between 4:30 and 6:45 p.m., while he was grocery shopping. Nothing was reported missing.

SATURDAY, DEC. 22, 2012

DUI

Michelle Elizabeth Harig, 24, of the 6N700 block of Foxborough Road, was charged at 1:34 a.m. in the 900 block of North 2nd Street (Route 31) with DUI, and improper lane use. She posted bond and was released pending a Jan. 24, 2013, court appearance.

DUI

Brandon Bautista, 21, of the 39W900 block of old Burlington Road, was charged at 3:33 a.m. in the 2600 block of East Main Street with DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, and improper lane use. Police found Bautista at the side of the road trying to change a tire, and the front axle was broken as well. Police said Bautista’s blood-alcohol content measured .168. He posted $300 cash bond and his driver’s license and was released pending a Jan. 17, 2013, court appearance.

Identity Theft

A 33-year-old resident of the 400 block of South 13th Street reported at 9:42 a.m. that he had received a letter from Capital One indicating someone used his name to open a credit card account in Maryland. The victim contacted the credit card company, which closed the account and opened an investigation. The victim then contact police.

FRIDAY, DEC. 21, 2012

Charges in Crash

Derek Todd Allen, 43, of the 2400 block of Eldorado Court, Naperville, was charged at 4 p.m. in the 2700 block of East Main Street, with driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving too fast for conditions and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police said Allen, driving a Mercedes C230, struck the rear end of a Ford F350. He was released on his own recognizance pending a Jan. 24, 2013.
