St. Charles Police Blotter: DUIs, Retail Thefts, Warrant Arrests

SUNDAY, DEC. 15, 2013


Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol


Ruben Francisco Galvan, 32, of the 5N600 block of Route 25, St. Charles, was charged at 12:35 a.m. on Army Trail Road near Route 25 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, no driver’s license, and on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court on a no driver’s license charge. He posted $300 cash bond on the local charges and was ordered to appear in Kane County Court on Jan. 25, 2013. He posted $200 cash bond and a $75 failure to appear fee on the DuPage County warrant, and was released pending a Jan. 14, 2014 appearance in DuPage County Court.


DUI


Shellie Jane Soderdahl, 38, of the 1000 block of Dean Street, St. Charles, was charged at 5:57 p.m. on the 13000 block of South 7th Avenue with DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol concentration greater than .08, and improper lane use. Police said her blood-alcohol concentration was .249, more than three times the legal limit. She posted her driver’s license and $100 cash bond and was released pending a Jan. 9, 2014 appearance in Kane County Branch Court.

Retail Theft Arrest


Cynthia Jane Armstrong, 52, of the 300 block of Wesley Street, Wheaton, was charged at 2:09 p.m. at Kohl’s, 3840 E. Main St., with retail theft. According to the report, Armstrong left the store without paying for a pair of socks with a combined value of $12, a pair of earrings valued at $30, and three sweaters with a combined value of $105, for a total of $147. She posted $150 cash bond and was released pending a Jan. 9, 2014 appearance in Kane County Branch Court.


Warrant Arrest


Anthony B. Briden, 19, of the 1000 block of Dean Street, St. Charles, was arrested at 2:09 a.m. on two St. Charles warrants for failure to appear in court. Biden was unable to post bond and was transported to the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.

SATURDAY, DEC. 14, 2013


Retail Theft Arrest


Jamela A. Ajaj, 37, of the 2300 block of Vanderbilt Drive, Geneva, was charged at 4:12 p.m. at 855 S. Randall Road with retail theft. She was released on her own recognizance pending an appearance in Kane County Branch Court.


FRIDAY, DEC. 13, 2013


DUI


Mark Albert Omastiak, 23, of the 38W700 block of Hopi Lane, Elgin, was charged at 11:16 p.m. on the 1900 block of West Main Street with DUI, improper lane use, and no insurance. He posted his driver’s license and $100 cash bond and was released pending a Jan. 16, 2014 appearance in Kane County Court.


THURSDAY, DEC. 12, 2013


Warrant Arrest


Aaron Joseph Simpson, 38, of the 200 block of East Jefferson Street, Malta, was arrested at 4:07 p.m. at the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Riverside Drive, on an unspecified warrant. He was held in the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.
