St. Charles Police Blotter: Warrant Arrests, Thefts, Vehicle Burglary

SUNDAY, OCT. 27, 2013


Warrant Arrest, Traffic Citations


Thomas Clayton Carr, 43, of the 1000 block of Independence Avenue, was arrested on a Massac County, Ill., warrant for failure to appear in court on an unspecified charge. He also was cited with speeding-52 in a 30 mph zone, and no insurance. He posted $328 cash bond and $75 failure-to-appear fee on the warrant, for which he was ordered to appear in court in Metropolis, Ill., on Dec. 5, 2013. He was issued a notice to appear in Kane County Branch Court on Dec. 11, 2013, on the traffic citations.


Criminal Property Damage


A resident of the 1400 block of Tyler Road reported at 12:32 p.m. that someone either hit or threw a golfball through a second-floor window of his home.

Firewood Theft


A resident of the 1800 block of Jeanette Avenue reported at 7:19 a.m. the theft of five pieces of firewood overnight. The owner told police he had just purchased more than a cord of firewood, which was covered and secured with a cable because the owner said he has had firewood stolen before.

Problem Parking Draws Citations


Jesus Marcelo Fabian-Chavez, 20, of the 1600 block of Indiana Street, was cited at 11:29 p.m. on the 1500 block of Indiana Street with no driver’s license, no insurance, and improper backing. Police said they were called to the scene on a report of a minivan having difficulty parking and had backed into another vehicle multiple times. Police said they could not detect any new damage to either the minivan or the Chevrolet Blazer parked behind the minivan. He posted a $200 cash bond and a $50 booking fee and was released pending a Dec. 19, 2013 court appearance.


Criminal Property Damage


Police called to a suspicious person report at Simply Self Storage, 248 N. Randall Road, found an Elgin man who was retrieving his father’s trailer when he heard a sound and then saw a man running away and jumping a fence. While police did not find the suspicious person, the Elgin man told officers he saw the man a second time, this time exiting a camper parked on the site. Police determined entry to the camper had been gained through a 12-by-12 roof vent. The camper’s owner, a Batavia man, was notified of the incident.

Vehicle Burglary


A Palatine woman reported at 3:48 p.m. that someone had entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked on the fourth level of the  West Side Parking Deck, 100 Illinois Ave. The incident occurred between 1:15 and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. The only item taken was a Mary Kay makeup brush valued at $60, the report states.


Forgery


A resident of Wessel Court reported at 1:48 p.m. reported that she accidentally placed a blank money order totaling $914 in an apartment brochure box instead of in the rent drop box. The money order, she told police, had been forged and cashed by a Glendale Heights man. When police contacted the man, who had just moved into the apartments there, he returned the money and reimbursed the woman and her husband for a day’s worth of wages they lost while sorting out the issue. The couple declined to press charges.


Criminal Trespass


David John Teafoe, 20, of the 100 block of North 15th Street, was charged at 9:55 p.m. at 501 N. County Farm Road, with criminal trespass. He was being held in jail pending a court appearance.


WEDNESDAY, OCT. 23, 2013


Warrant Arrest


Jesus J. Velasquez-Saucedo, 43, of the 800 block of North 8th Avenue, Maywood, was arrested at 12:38 p.m. on the 3700 block of East Main Street on DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court on a battery charge. He was transported to the DuPage County Jail, where he was held pending a court appearance.


Retail Theft


Jeffrey J. Peterson, 29, of the 300 block of Republic Road, Batavia, was charged at 8:45 p.m. at the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Riverside Drive, with retail theft. He was being held in the Kane County Jail pending a court appearance.

Criminal Property Damage


Zachary Taylor Somora, 18, of the 34W900 block of Stanton Drive, was charged at 11:21 a.m. at 1020 Dunham Road with criminal damage to state-supported property-less than $500. He was held in jail pending a court appearance.
