SOURCE: St. Charles Police Department

The St. Charles Police Department completed a two-week enforcement period in connection with a Traffic Safety Campaign, ending on Dec. 1, 2013.

This safety campaign is done in cooperation with, and funded by, the Illinois Department of Transportation. During this enforcement period, St. Charles officers made one DUI arrest and one public urination arrest; issued 12 citations for safety belts, three citations for suspended/revoked license, four citations for uninsured motorist, 11 citations for speeding, and six citations for other violations.

In addition to the state citations issued, officers also issued 34 warnings for various violations. This initiative is part of a statewide program to reduce the number of traffic fatalities. Please drive carefully and help us in removing impaired drivers from our streets
