St. Charles Police Issue Alert After Boys Approached by Car

One of two men in a red stationwagon offered three boys some candy.

Three boys refused to be enticed by the lure of an offer of candy, according to St. Charles police, who issued an alert about what they are terming a suspicious incident on Sunday evening.


According to police, three male juveniles were walking near Moore Avenue and Fourth Place about 5:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013, when a red stationwagon with two males inside approached.


Police said the male passenger in the vehicle then yelled out the window “i have candy for you guys.”

The boys kept walking and did not approach the vehicle, which last was seen northbound on on 4th Place.


The St. Charles Police Department had no more details about the vehicles or its occupants, except that the men did not speak with an accent.
