Blotter: Diaper Bag Used in Theft; Fight Between Neighbors

The following arrest information was supplied by the St. Charles Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A fight between neighbors

Two St. Charles neighbors received tickets for fighting on July 28, according to police reports. Richard A. Schultze, 48, of 1814 Walnut St. and Jacob Lawrence Banbury, 23, of 1814 Walnut, were cited after the two allegedly fought near their homes. Police were unsure what caused the fight but, according to one account, Schultze reportedly gave Banbury the “middle finger.” An officer determined that the fight appeared mutual and both participants were given a ticket.

Drunken driving arrest for Fox Lake woman

Claralaine Shahbaz, 36, of 1 Hawthrone Lane, Fox Lake, was cited for drunken driving on Aug. 4, according to police reports. Shahbaz was given tests for drunkeness during a traffic stop after police allegedly saw her lose her balance while stepping out of a mini-van and had smelled alcohol on her breath. She reportedly told police that she drank Miller Lite that night. Shahbaz also was cited for driving without a valid driver’s license and for squealing her tires.

Kattia L. Findley, 33, of 7 Oxford Dr., Carpentersville, was arrested for retail theft on Aug. 4, according to police reports. Loss prevention employees at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Rd., stopped Findley after allegedly spotting her put candles, cologne and several other items into a diaper bag. She was found with more than $303 in items she did not pay for inside the bag. Findley was charged with felony retail theft.
