St. Charles Police Nab 3 for DUI During Enforcement Effort

Police issue 36 citations for other violations and 40 warning tickets as well.

The St. Charles Police Department made three drunken driving arrests, issued 18 safety belt citations, issued 36 traffic citations and issued 40 warnings during a  two-week enforcement period ending Jan. 5, 2014.


Done in conjunction with a traffic safety campaign and with the cooperation and funding of the Illinois Department of Transportation, the  enforcement effort also netted 40 warnings for various traffic offenses, according to a St. Charles Police Department release.


According to the release, the citations included:

  • 18 for safety belts violations

  • One for driving with a suspended/revoked license,

  • Three for no insurance,

  • 10 for speeding,

  • Four for other violations.


  • The release states that the initiative is part of a statewide program to reduce the number of traffic fatalities. The St. Charles Police Department asks motorists to drive carefully and help remove impaired drivers from our streets.
