St. Charles Police Probe Six Vehicle Burglaries

All occurred Jan. 1-2 in different parts of town, authorities say.

The St. Charles Police Department is investigating a half-dozen overnight burglaries on Jan. 1 and 2.


The break-ins occurred in different parts of down, although the Police Department said in a release that a majority of the calls were on McKinley Street and Jewel Avenue, plus one report on South 13th Avenue and one on Lucylle Avenue.


Police said in a release that all the incidents occurred during the late evening or early morning hours and involved vehicles whose owners had left them unsecured.

The St. Charles Police Department is urging residents to secure their vehicles and to not leave any personal items in plain view. The department advises removing anything of value from the vehicle if possible.


Police also are encouraging that anyone who might have information regarding these incidents to call the St. Charles Police Department at 630-377-4435.
