Sting Nets Thirsty Fox for Underage Liquor Sale Violation

Police say 20 other establishments were found to be in compliance with the St. Charles liquor code.

Only one of 21 liquor establishments failed muster during the St. Charles Police Department’s fourth-quarter liquor code compliance checks, which were completed Oct. 18, the city announced in a release issued Tuesday.


The Thirsty Fox, 104 E. Main St., however, was found to be noncompliant and was cited into local court on a count of sale of liquor to a minor. Thirsty Fox employee Desirae A. Stone, 28, of Aurora, has been ordered to appear in Kane County Branch Court at 9 a.m. Nov. 14, 2013.


According to the release, reports on the incident will be forwarded to the St. Charles Liquor Control Commission for consideration of a formal complaint against the Thirsty Fox.

The compliance checks were conducted by St. Charles police working with two 19-year-olds serving as civilian “special agents” in the operation.


The release states that 20 of the 21 businesses inspected were determined to be in compliance.

According to the release, congratulatory letters from St. Charles Police Chief Jim Lamkin will be sent to the businesses found in compliance.
