Warming Centers Available in St. Charles

The warming centers in St. Charles are opening during business hours.

We are again faced with dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills across the area. These cold temperatures are expected to last throughout today and into Tuesday and possiblyWednesday, reaching negative temperatures. 

The city of St. Charles would like to caution people, that if you must go out and be in the elements, to please dress for the weather. If possible, wear ski masks or a scarf to cover parts of your face and neck that would not otherwise be covered.

Wear protective gear on your hands as well. If you do not need to go outside, please don’t, stay indoors. Also, if you need to go out and are driving, make sure to have a blanket in your car, take a cellphone charger with you, as well as a flashlight, and always notify someone of your destination. 

The city of St. Charles has several warming centers that can be visited during business hours, they are:

  • The Municipal Center Building (City Hall)
  • St. Charles Public Library
  • Charlestown Mall
  • The St. Charles Police Department
  • Lazarus House.
