Here's an item from the St. Charles police blotter.

A West Chicago man was cited Thursday for theft of less than $300.

Gaspar Bucio, 46, of 738 Lincoln in West Chicago was cited after a loss prevention officer at Sears, 3700 E. Main St., told police of a potential shoplifter.

Bucio is alleged to have three packs of shoelaces, valued at $1.97 each, according to the police report. Police were called when Bucio reportedly refused to sign a Sears form admitting to the theft.
