Victims survives; police in West Chicago are investigating Monday night shooting.

West Chicago police are investigating a Monday night shooting whose victim apparently was targeted.

The West Chicago Police Department said the shooting occurred about 9:25 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, in the 300 block of Barber Street. Police said a victim, identified only as a male, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

“The victim appears to have been targeted, and no additional threat to public safety is believed to exist at this time,” the department said in a release on Tuesday. “However, residents are always encouraged to report any suspicious activity.”
