Weather Alert: Wind Chill Could Hit 25 Below Zero

It is bitter cold out there, so be careful. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service Chicago has put out a Wind Chill Advisory, which is in effect starting at 6 p.m. Monday through 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Wind chill values could get down to 25 below zero this evening through Tuesday morning.

When it gets this cold, frostbite to exposed skin can occur in 30 minutes.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds combine. Frostbite and hypothermia are the dangers.

If you go outside, wear a hat and gloves, the National Weather Service Chicago advises.
