Why Are You Seeking Office?

I am seeking re-election because I enjoy workinig with and for the residents of the 4th Ward and the city of St. Charles. I would also like to see the completion of projects started in my previous terms.

What sets you apart from the other candidates?

My length of service, experience and dedication to the residents and the city.

Issue 1: What is your ecomonic development strategy for the city of St. Charles?

A strong effort to relieve the tax burden by encouraging new business and appropriate development to broaden the tax base without draining our resources.

Issue 2: In light of the anger over the Lexington Club controversy, what steps would you take to restore trust in city government? To increase transparency?

It starts with better communication on all sides. An outline of the stepsto be taken that the developer, staff, plan commission, planning and development committee, city council and the residents must follow. More public involvement in the process at the very beginning of the project may be necessary.

Issue 3: What steps would you take to help resolve the complaints of alcohol-related problems in the downtown area?

Shorter hours, increase license fees, increase fees for violations, suspension of license on the second offence in 6 months and if there is a third offense in a year a minimum 30 day suspension.
