Birds in Batavia Test Positive for West Nile Virus
Birds are the first to test positive for WNV in Kane County this year.

The Kane County Health Department announaced Tuesday that three birds have tested positive for West Nile virus.
According to a Health Department release, two of the birds were collected in two different locations in rural Batavia, and another was collected within the city of Aurora.
These are the first birds to test positive for West Nile virus in Kane County this year, although in the last few weeks, the Health Department has seen mosquitoes that tested positive for the virus in Algonquin, Aurora and then Montgomery.
