Gas Prices Continue to Dive; Water Main Work to Start
Traffic will slow for bridge staining on the Route 31 Bridge at Stearns Road.
Here's a look at local road projects that might affect your drive:
- The City of St. Charles moved in equipment this week for a sanitary sewer and watermain project on East Main Street. (IL Route 64) from 7th Avenue to Dunham Road. The project will replace the existing sanitary sewer along Main Street in conjunction with the Route 64 reconstruction and road widening project headed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). The work will take several months to complete and short disruptions of water service will occur in affected areas.
- Water main work between Route 64 and Cedar Avenue should be completed by the end of the week.
- Bridge staining at the Illinois Route 31 Bridge over Stearns Road in South Elgin begins this week and ends Aug. 26, weather permitting. Daily lane closures should be expected. Motorists are asked to use caution when driving in work zones.
