Lawsuit Threat Looms over Sheriff Deputies' Pay Raise
A Kane County Board committee has postponed a vote that would give the Sheriff's Office enough money to pay for deputies' wage increases.
The 's deputies union might soon file a lawsuit over a negotiated pay raise that was set to start this week.
The Kane County Board's Finance Committee held off on a vote that would have added $183,000 to the Sheriff Office's 2012 budget to handle the pay increase. Instead, the committee wants to seek a legal opinion from the Kane County State's Attorney on what options the County Board has.
