Mayor Names Bancroft as Nominee for Ward 3 Vacancy

A ratification vote by the St. Charles City Council is expected June 17.

Mayor Raymond Rogina on Wednesday announced his selection of Todd A. Bancroft to fill the remaining two years of the 3rd Ward aldermanic seat on the St. Charles City Council.


The seat was vacated when Rogina was sworn in as mayor.


According to a release from the city, Bancroft grew up in St. Charles and has lived in the 3rd Ward for 15 years. He is the chief administrative officer, senior vice president and general counsel for Draper and Kramer Incorporated.

“Todd Bancroft will bring to our city a sincere passion for his hometown,” Rogina said in the release. “He has a genuine desire to give back to his community, and as alderman, to his constituents. He submits a resume that will bring a welcome perspective to the council. I am proud to nominate him to our City Council.”


“I am grateful to the mayor and City Council members for allowing me the opportunity to serve a community that has been so important to me throughout my life. St. Charles is a very special place, with one of its most exciting aspects being truly unlimited potential,” Bancroft said in the release. “I look forward to being a part of shaping its future and representing my constituency in the 3rd Ward.”

Rogina led a task force that interviewed 13 candidates who applied for the seat. The task force, which included 1st Ward Alderman Dan Stalleto, 3rd Ward Alderman William Turner and City Administrator Brian Townsend, narrowed the field of candidates to four.


According to the city’s release, one of the candidate withdrew on Monday morning, and the three remaining finalists were interviewed in an executive session with Mayor Rogina and the full City Council on Monday evening.


The release states that the City Council will vote on Bancroft’s nomination at the council’s June 17 meeting.
