More Questions for Proposed St. Charles Apartment Complex at Tonight's Committee Meeting

Also, the St. Charles Planning & Development committee will again discuss a renter licensing ordinance.

A second will took at look at plans for a proposed west-side apartment complex Monday night.

The 342-apartment proposal is among the items on the Planning & Development committee agenda.

On Nov. 9, representatives of JCF Real Estate presented the apartment complex concept plan for about 17 acres of the Corporate Reserves property at West Main Street and Cardinal Drive, west of Randall Road.

The Plan Commission, who heard JCF’s plan last week, expressed a general support for residential development there, pointing out that neighborhoods border the area. They also outlined a number of issue, a summary of which is posted in the agenda material on the City of St. Charles website.

A few questions will direct discussion on the proposal tonight, such as whether the committee thinks the development is warranted for that area and whether the mixed-use buildings proposed alongside the apartments is desired.

Also on the agenda, committee will pick up a postponed discussion of the ordinance that would create a license for renters in St. Charles.

The committee will consider four options for the structure of the program.
