9 File for Eight St. Charles Township Offices

Seven incumbents, a newcomer are running as a slate, while one aims to replace the incumbent assessor.

Nine candidates have filed to run for eight offices in St. Charles Township government, with eight running as a slate and a ninth challenging the incumbent assessor.

Township Supervisor John Arthur Anderson said Thursday morning that all township officials will seek re-election as incumbents except for Township Commissioner Jerry Swanson, and that there is only one race that is contested — for township assessor.

Gary Fritz has filed to challenge Township Assessor Colleen Lang for that office.

Anderson said the seven incumbents — Anderson, Lang, Highway Commissioner Ron Johnson, Township Clerk Jack Brainard, and Township Commissioners Terry Cross, Paul Lencioni and Todd Wallace — are running as a slate, calling themselves the St. Charles First Party.

Also running on their slate is Mary Lynn Swanson, who has filed to run for township commissioner. Anderson said she is not related to Jerry Swanson.
